16 Farmers Market officially opens for 2015 season at the Elkin Town Hall Parking lot, from 9:00 am to noon. Produce can be less plentiful this month, depending on weather conditions and seasonal products.
Opening Day! Weather may be a little chilly...Adam and Mecca Lowe along with Caroline Beverly will play opening day, weather permitting.

7 Elkin Farmer's Market –LIVE MUSIC with Fiddle Dee Dee. Join us at the Town Hall parking lot as new items will be added weekly as the weather warms up! Fiddle Dee Dee will be a the market the 1st Saturday of each month through October.

Suzanne Hillin, resident of Surry County, will be providing a sample of some of the great ways we can eat healthy using locally grown food!
Suzanne is a licensed mental health counselor with CareNet. She believes that what we eat greatly impacts our mental health.
She's been inspired to volunteer to provide this monthly tasting sample to us by her good friend and nutritionist Sharon New, of Annapolis, MD, who does the same at local markets in her area. Sharon also had a website, LocalFoodBeat.com, with nutritional and market information. Suzanne has a facebook site for those of us in this area, Local Food Beat-NC.
